50% recycled alpaca, 50% recycled wool. Spun by Filpucci and knitted by Ley Tricot in Italy.

Maintenance

We recommend that you avoid washing your wool sweater. This will preserve the wool's natural properties and softness for much longer, and extend the life of the garment. Try airing the sweater instead, outside or inside. Leave it for at least a day to neutralize odors. Try to remove stains without washing the entire garment. If you need to wash the entire garment: Dry clean or machine wash on a gentle cycle with wool detergent or by hand, max 30 degrees. Gently shape the garment while it is wet. Dry flat.

The sweater is knitted "fully fashioned". This means that the different parts of the sweater are knitted in their final shape - instead of being cut out of a larger knitted piece - which gives neater seams and no excess scraps.

Alpaca yarn can shed. The shedding will decrease with each use and will stop after a while.

The story of the garment

This sweater is based on a favorite in Anja's wardrobe; inherited from her mother and quite worn out. We wanted a sweater that you can "live" in during the winter, and that you can also crawl into after a cold bath or at the end of a bright summer evening. That is always tempting to put on, always soft and warm, and that is also pretty and suitable for versatile use.

The design is classic, inspired by the iconic Irish Aran sweaters. These were originally knitted for fishermen - the airy wool kept them warm and the lanolin in the untreated wool kept them dry. The design later became world famous after Grace Kelly wore it when she was pictured on the cover of Vogue sometime in the 1950s.

Many similar versions only have a braided pattern on the front. It's cost-effective to have a smaller pattern, but we wanted it to look just as nice on the back.

And the yarn? The softest recycled yarn we've ever seen.
