100% lamb’s wool, with a warm and rustic quality. A classic and versatile garment with a beautiful textured pattern. Oeko-Tex® certified, made in Italy.

Description

A warm sweater in pure lamb's wool. The tactile structure knit provides both extra warmth and an organic look that is both soft and robust. The melange yarn - a blend of natural white and a dark linen color - gives a beautiful play of colors to the garment that is also easy to combine with other colors and garments in the basic wardrobe.

Description and fit

  • Roomy, straight fit
  • Textured knit
  • Side slits
  • Wide, double ribbed collar
  • Round neck
  • Choose your normal size

The sweater is knitted from a rustic and drier wool yarn blended with finer and softer wool, which gives a unique combination of durability and softness. If you have sensitive skin that reacts to wool, we recommend wearing a shirt underneath.

Production

  • 100% wool from the lambs' first shearing
  • 100% made in Italy
  • Oeko-tex® certified
  • Non-toxic dyes

The yarn is recyclable, biodegradable, and contains no microplastics. The yarn manufacturer Lanecardate buys the wool directly from the farmer, and washes, spins, and dyes everything at their own factory in Italy. They also use a small amount of upcycled scraps from their other productions when spinning new yarn, as part of their circular system.

The knitted sweater is "fully fashioned". This means that the different parts of the sweater are knitted in their final shape - instead of being cut out of a larger knitted piece - which gives nicer seams and no excess scraps.

The garment's story

This sweater is inspired by the dramatic and contrasting landscape of Lofoten, and the rhythmic movements of the sea and the coast.

It called for something other than the super-soft yarn qualities we have chosen for our other garments. A yarn that could bring out the contrast in the pattern, both the soft and the rough, and that would be durable enough so that the garment can last for generations – to withstand the forces of wind and sea, and unintended scrapes against sharp, jagged cliffs.

The rustic and drier wool yarn blended with finer and softer wool is like the mountains, the waves, and the sand; rough and soft at the same time.

The color choice for the women's and men's model is not random: A light variant, like the smooth sand, and a dark blue, like the roaring sea. These two inseparable elements of the coastal landscape.

A faint hum in the background.
Then a crescendo – and a roar.
A crackling sound that gradually ebbs away.
Silence. A deep breath.
Then a crescendo – and a roar.

An endless span of time: the rhythm of the sea that breaks the peace of the beach. Which shapes the coastline, leaves scars through millennia, and carves itself incessantly into the rugged, jagged mountain. Which transforms sharp cliffs into calm beaches, and lulls the afternoon sun to sleep as it glides under the horizon.

An enormous, dark blue – almost black – mass crashes in, time after time, in a display of futile power. And the earth – patient, enduring – releases fragments of stone that become sand: the only lasting scar after this endless battle.

Size guide

Measure your body to find the right size:

The model is 166 cm tall and wears size S.

Materials and origin

100% wool: lamb’s wool from New Zealand, blended with a small amount of wool from Australia or South Africa for a softer feel. Spun by Lanecardate and knitted by Ley Tricot in Italy.

Maintenance

We recommend avoiding washing the wool sweater. This will preserve the wool's natural properties and extend the garment's lifespan. Try airing the sweater instead, indoors or outdoors. Leave it for at least one day to neutralize odors. Try to remove stains without washing the entire garment. If you must wash the entire garment: Dry clean or machine wash on a gentle wool cycle with wool detergent, or hand wash at a maximum of 30 degrees. Gently shape the garment while it is wet. Dry flat.
