Description

This darning mushroom is made in Stavanger, by craftsman Bjarne Hoelgaard. Each mushroom is unique, made from surplus materials in different types of wood. The darning mushrooms vary in size and measure between 14 and 17 cm. Please send us a comment if you have preferences for appearance or size, and we will pick the one we think will fit best.

The design is also special - with a hidden compartment inside for storing your darning needles. The handle is relatively long and fits well in the hand.

A darning mushroom helps you maintain the shape of your sock while darning, as it otherwise tends to tighten up in the repair area. The darning mushroom can also be used for small repairs on other garments.

How to use a darning mushroom

Place the darning mushroom inside the sock/garment with the damaged area on top and hold the rest of the sock/garment together with the handle. Tighten the darning area so that it has the same tension as the sock/garment has while in use.
