Zipper

How to repair zipper.

When a zipper has been used for a while, the slider will open up a bit and lose its grip. A clear sign that this has happened is that the zipper opens up at the bottom again after you close it.

If the slider is very worn or the quality of the metal is poor (too soft), you should have it replaced. Often, it is sufficient to replace the slider and not the entire zipper. But even before replacing the slider, there is one trick that may be sufficient.

How to repair your zipper with a simple trick:

Use pliers to gently close the slider on both sides. Be careful not to close it too much; try a little at a time until it gets a good grip and slides smoothly again.

Another trick if your slider isn't sliding smoothly is to use a wax candle to wax the zipper. Simply rub the candle against the teeth on both sides of the zipper all the way from bottom to top to give it a thin layer of wax.

And; be kind and patient with your zippers when closing them... It will extend the life of the garments considerably!
