New rib

How to knit new rib. If the rib on your sweater is very worn, it may be easier to make a new one than to repair it.

How to knit a new rib:

Use a knitting needle to pick up each stitch in the last row before the rib. Do this by picking up the right "arm" of each stitch or "V" around the sleeve/edge/neckline.

Use yarn of the same thickness to knit the new rib with the stitches you have picked up.

Once the new rib is finished you can cut off the old one. You may want to leave a row or two to make sure you don't cut off too much. Pick up the last section and tie off the loose ends, from both the new and old rib.
